I have never been a fan of any sex toy that involves a cord. The very first vibrator I bought, using a gift certificate I won via a radio contest to some random website, was (unbeknownst to me) a corded model—a fact that I did not discover until it arrived in the mail. For some reason, the cords weird me out. Now I understand that, in some cases, a cord is necessary or beneficial, and in the case of the Whisper Micro-Bullet, I can see why it’s needed. The bullet is so small that if it weren’t corded, I would be afraid of mistaking it for a Mike and Ike and swallowing it, hoping for a delicious fruit flavor. Add to that the fact that something that small cannot possibly have a battery supply in it, and you’re left with only one option: a cord, connected to a larger part of the toy where the batteries and controls are located.
The thing I liked best about the Whisper Micro-Bullet was that it was, indeed, like a whisper. I am positive (via thorough testing) that it cannot be heard from the next room, and there are probably situations in which it would be quiet enough not to be heard by another party even in the same room, so if discretion is your main objective, this toy is worth a try. The other nice thing about it is that it’s fairly powerful for its size, though you have the option of only two settings: “on” and “more on.” The “Soft Rubber Cote™” gave the toy a smooth, soft surface that falls somewhere between plastic and cyberskin.
Apparently the toy is also self-heating, according to the copy on the packaging, but to me, it didn’t seem like it got any hotter than something vibrating would get anyway. Also, I was confused by the plug-in jack: you can unplug the bullet from the battery base (it takes two AA batteries, not included), but I don’t see why you would necessarily need to—for cleaning, perhaps, since you aren’t to immerse the battery base in water, but it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to take the batteries out and just not immerse that part. But the thing that made this toy the least easy to use was not the cord, but rather the size of the bullet. It’s SO SMALL. It’s almost too small, and with nothing to hold on to but the bullet itself, it takes some getting used to. That said, it’s a powerful little toy with a lot of bang for your buck, and minor flaws aside, would be ideal for someone who needs something very quiet and isn’t bothered by cords—I think this toy has actually changed my mind on that front.
