These lubricants manufactured by WET International really do “stays wet longer." If you watch late-night cable TV, you certainly have seen the advertisements for these products, as they are heavily promoted. If you go to the website, they offer free samples, which is a great way to try to find your ideal lubricant, or “lube” for short. After all, what would be an ideal lube? Should it be light or long-lasting? Stain-free or edible? Compatible with condoms or warming?
The samples we tried out were the WET Light Lubricant and the Wet Light Warming Intimate Lubricant. The operative word here is “light." Although it's water-based, we would not say it’s watery; instead, this lube was thinner and non-obtrusive, unlike heavier lubes that are sticky, smelly and greasy. As light as these lubes are, they do not run, which is great if you don’t want to ruin the new comforter. However, the trade off is that with such a light lube you’re going to have to reapply, especially if you are using our favorite toys, like dongs and vibrators.
Also, the Light lubricants are not really designed for eating, if you know what we mean; these are odorless, tasteless and colorless, and contain aloe vera. WET makes it very clear on the packagings that “if you prefer a heavier lube, then use their 'Original Gel Formula.' In all fairness, the Light lubricant is almost invisible. So if you want to have a Friday night marathon, and you need a little lube to keep the fun going, there’s nothing wrong with this product. We think that a heavier lube that doesn’t require reapplication that would not interfere with the flow of lovemaking is a better choice.
As far as the WET Light Warming Intimate Lubricant, this is very light warming gel; it beats cold lubricant. We’ve tried warming lubes that were distinctly warmer; this warming lube is just above room temperature (say 80 degrees)--not cold, not hot. More like the temperature of your favorite swimming pool, but not the hot tub. Again, we would say it’s non-obtrusive; you would barely notice it and might expect it to be a little warmer.
WET has an extremely diverse line of product offerings, including their Platinum Body Glide, designed to work in the aforementioned hot tub. Cool packaging, cool company. Order some free samples, and experiment! There’s something for everyone, and lube definitely will help maximize your pleasure. These products are all about pleasure, and for that, they get five stars.
