I was a little confused when first receiving this assignment…clearly; I get the purpose of handcuffs, but ankle cuffs? What would someone do with those?
I am, however, a fan of all means of locking down my partner and was ready to rise to the challenge.
I was assigned the task of reviewing Penthouse Variations’ Captivity Ankle Cuffs, in a delicious fiery red color. However, the color would mean little to me as I was given the co-assignment of also reviewing Penthouse Variations’ Blind Devotion Faux Fur Captivity Mask with it. (In black for anyone keeping score.)
Darkness and the element of surprise always add to the intrigue of sex, so I was excited to try this mask most of all. Plus faux-fur on the outside, the inside is velvety velour, making your eyes nestle in soft almost-slumber as you are teased and tortured below.
Speaking of below, the ankle cuffs are actually quite fetching. These sexy shackles come with a long chain – meaning, as my ignorance had originally assumed – you will not be using them to cuff your ankles together, but rather, to keep them apart. This makes a lot more sense. The plush faux fur that lines the cuffs keep your ankles from getting marked, but should you wish to play a little more rough, it can be removed.
Non-committal as I am, I opted for furry-edged cuffs, sans removal, in order to not leave any evidence. These cuffs also offer maximum security – they come with two keys and also have a hidden quick release trigger. The use of restraints of any kind is always exciting for me – but I’m not a big fan of discomfort. These furry cuffs let me be relaxed and comfy even when being sexily teased to all ends of mercy. The cuffs are shaped perfectly to fit around most ankles, and the chain is 17 inches long, which gives plenty of room for play. Chain your mate spread eagle, if you are a traditionalist, or use your imagination (which you implicitly are by owning these cuffs in the first place). It may be really fun to each wear one and chain yourselves together in order to build up anticipation. Warning: This may lead to reverse effects. There’s a reason people enjoy their space.
If you are looking to add another element of fun, pair the cuffs with the faux-fur mask. The elastic band on the mask fits all sizes, so feel free to share the mask between you. I find my feelings and sensations are always heightened when behind a mask…it makes you focus more on what you feel than what you see, and it heightens already heightened sensations. The faux fur mask allows this, but the furry softness also maintains an air of fun.
