It’s not a butt plug, nor a prostate massager, but a “pleasure object.” One of a few toys by Lelo targeted toward biological men, like many of my favorite toys, it’s a switchable: something you can use in more than one way. In true Lelo form, presentation is everything. Bob comes packaged in a blue box. When you open the box you see Bob, all 3.5 inches (96 mm) of him. Bob is 1.25 inches (32 mm) in width at his widest part, which is at the bottom. You’ll notice the large bottom part as well as the ring on the opposite end. Bob comes curved and although the 1.25 inch width is large, he’s very light in weight.
When you pick Bob up, you’ll instantly notice how smooth he is to the touch. This is because he’s made of body-safe phthalate-free silicone that comes in either deep blue or bordeaux red. The smoothness is not just on one part of him, but covers him completely even in the center of the ring. When I slipped my finger into the ring, I could feel how firm yet flexible Bob was and knew he would be a great addition to my arsenal.
After removing Bob from the packaging there is an owner’s manual and satin pouch underneath, which is standard with Lelo products. I read the user manual first which is translated into five different languages. The widest part of Bob is called the “pleasure point” in the manual and also included are suggested positions, tricks, and tips to use with Bob.
There is a very strong caution to not use silicone-based lube with Bob as his surface may become tacky and sticky permanently. That was reason enough for me to opt against such lube. Before introducing Bob to my partner, I washed him with warm water and soap as advised and let him air dry. I was very impressed to see that after Bob was dry he was just as smooth as he had been when I first opened the package.
Usually, I like using condoms with my toys to make clean up easier, but the length and width of Bob is smaller than a condom, and too big for a finger cot. For me, this means cleaning Bob is imperative to his longevity and that I have to be selective with whom I use him. I tried Bob solo first then introduced him to my luckiest partner.
My first moves with Bob were easy and, just like him, smooth. Because the largest part of him is at the tip, if you are tense it may hurt or prove difficult to get inside, so try to relax. Although Bob is crafted for biological men, he is a good length and width for g-spot stimulation for biological women. I was very pleased with him, but his original purpose is where he works best: anal stimulation.
One of the reasons I think my partner was very interested in Bob was because he wasn’t intimidated by the shape or size and because Bob still looked masculine in a sophisticated way. Bob easily fits into the palm of my hand, and that is part of his charm. I have to stress that if you do decide to share your toys like I did, sanitizing and washing them properly is essential!
My partner was not as eager as I was to use Bob, so it took a little while for him to warm up to anything besides my finger inside him. I let my partner choose the lube he wanted and once I made sure he was relaxed and enjoying himself, I introduced him to Bob. My goal was to introduce Bob and leave him there, not mess around with him and let him do his job while I worked on another part of my partner. This proved extremely successful as it helped my partner experience multiple forms of stimulation versus just one.
I got jealous that Bob gave him more pleasure than he gave me, but his focus is male bodies and not so much mine. Bob helped my partner have a very intense and rich orgasm, one that he wanted to experience more than once in different positions. We stuck to leaving Bob inside my partner while we did other things. I’m sure as my partner becomes more acquainted to Bob, he may become more comfortable with having Bob move around.
