Okay, so this was my first run in with a high-class vibrator (oh, ahem… I think it's actually called a "personal massager"). Anyways, it was quite nice and to tell the truth I felt a bit fancy using it.
Even the packaging was lovely and upscale: no scary naked fake smiling women on the cover, just a smooth purple box with LELO engraved in elegant silver type. The company, LELO, based in Sweden is "devoted to the design and development of sensual pleasure objects with contemporary luxury flair" and the "GIGI is a dedicated pleasure object for the discerning G-spot connoisseur.” Sounds good to me—every girl likes being pampered. GIGI has a satin pouch and a charger and lasts up to an hour and a half so you don't have to frantically change any batteries last minute. The supple feel of the GIGI itself is quite delicate—not at all some cheap rubbery, frightening smelly torture device. Instead, it is small and purple and luxurious. Did I mention there was a user manual? This was fabulous; I love directions, which are always helpful when you are putting new things into special places. The only thing that was confusing was that the directions stated five preprogrammed pleasure modes, but on the actual "massager" there are no numbers, only arrows to get you between 1 and 5, and it's a lucky guess to figure out what number you've landed on. This was a little annoying, but all of the settings felt really good. I'm just not exactly sure which setting led me to belting out the HALLELUAH CHORUS during the finale! Now let's talk sound. There's a "virtually silent vibrator engine.” If you listen REALLY, REALLY close you can hear a weird high-pitch EEEEeeeeeeee noise, but it was pretty damn quiet if you ask me. I've never had another toy come anywhere close to this level of almost no sound. I was completely able to tune it out, but my cat was not so happy about it—she sulked out of the room, which was probably good because a little privacy is always good when you're practicing a little self-love. Using the LELO GIGI was a sensual and delicious experience. The cost is more on the pricey side at $109 US dollars, but I promise you the Gigi is worth its weight in gold. You'll feel like a princess every time you use it.
