Climax Remotes Endless Egg
Reviewed by A. Marquardt

The thought of someone else having power over you is the basis of many a kink. Like being blindfolded? Getting tied up? Handcuffed, even? Having pies shoved in your face? They’re all part of that wonderful world we know as dom/sub play, and the balance of power or, more accurately, the shifting of said balance, in a sexual relationship can be a key element in making things interesting.

Which is why the Climax Remotes Endless Egg is such a titillating little gadget. Unassuming, it has three parts: a smooth plastic egg (the one I got is pink), a long, slender stick (more on that later), and a remote control. Yes, a tiny, pink remote control that works up to 20 feet away. You take the egg, place it where you will, and hand the remote control off to a partner, who now has control over what sort of vibration you’re feeling, and at what level of power. It seems like a relatively small relinquishment of power, but in reality it’s rather intense: whoever holds the remote control can essentially control the sexual response of their partner.

Theoretically, the egg has five levels of intensity and eight different styles of vibration (pulsing, waves, etc.), but in practice I could only detect maybe four. And this was in my hand. Once I’d inserted it, the differences in vibration became even less pronounced.

You may be wondering: If this thing is shaped like an egg, how does the whole “insertion” business work? It’s actually rather ingeniously crafted. The egg itself, about 3-inch long and 2 inch in diameter—maybe a “medium” if we’re talking chicken eggs at the grocery store—has an attached plastic lariat to allow for easy removal after you’re done playing. This concept is copied in the battery chamber, which includes a small ribbon to help you pop out the four AG 13 batteries (eight are included, which was good, because mine ran out surprisingly fast)—make sure the ribbon goes under the batteries, or you’ll never be able to get the batteries out to change them! But back to the external features: The plastic lariat allows you to pull the egg out, but what allows you to get the egg in to a place where a lariat would be necessary? That’s where the long, slender stick comes into play. You thread the lariat through the stick and use it to position the egg where you like.

Using the egg isn’t perfect; the person holding the remote can’t really tell at what intensity the egg is vibrating at any given moment, just whether it’s on or off. And as I previously mentioned, once the egg is in, it’s hard to differentiate between the different settings. But the egg vibrates powerfully and the remote control seems to work through walls, but again 20 feet is an outside estimate. (The testing of this part was pretty fun, especially since we decided to do it outside in a park.) Overall, I’d say this is a good gift item, something to give your partner. If you’re the dominant one, just hand them the egg and tell them you’re in charge; if you’re the sub, hand over the remote control and let them take over.
