Service Sector workers in Johannesburg continue their strike with new complaints of being left without energy for one basic and primal need: sex.
The strike has added this new complaint and has been fighting for an improvement in pay and workplace conditions. The strike has been backed by multiple trade unions and the support continues as those on strike blame their high stress jobs for defeating their libidos.
The lack of sexual energy is only one problem amidst many others driving the protests. Workers struggle to make ends meet under an inflation rate of 5.5 percent and refuse to end the strike until their demands for wage increases are met.
Racial conflicts also continue to fuel the strikers as complaints of whites receiving preferential treatment surface to lengthen the list of issues. The heavy workloads, low pay and dispute-prone environments are leaving a strain on the workers that is not easily shed at the bedroom door.
