Encarda Conde, 45, suffers from muscle control disorder ataxia and has just recently starred in her first porn role Breaking Barriers, a subject of online chat room debate, and has also received a great deal of attention from the Spanish press.

Conde is also the president of the Association of Andalucian Ataxia Groups. She decided to appear in porn after writing to a letter of complaint to Spain’s biggest adult film producer Antonio Marcos, owner of X Canal Productions, saying his films never featured a handicapped actor.

Marcos agreed to hold an audition for disabled potential porn stars and when no one volunteered, Conde decided to do it herself stating, “Disabled women have to take steps forward and one should always be happy if one breaks a barrier.” The group’s website does not mention the film; however, comments on its chat board have been both positive and critical towards her choice to appear in porn.
