The ‘Cara’ bra takes a quarter of a year to manufacture, costs 380 British pounds and is reputed to create the ideal bust for its wearer. It is a made-to-measure bra. Many women have a great deal of trouble finding bras that fit, and there is a staggering percentage of women wearing bras that are the wrong size.
The bra comes from a Parisian shop called Cadolle owned by Poupie Cadolle. Cadolle attempts to create an entirely new figure for its clientele without the aid of diets or cosmetic surgery. They also make other women’s garments such as corsets. The ‘Cara’ bra is handmade piece by piece. Cadolle is strictly high fashion and many of the boutiques clientele are A-list actresses.
Poupie says that manufacturers pay less attention to bras than to other types of clothing, “they make something only to cover the nipple. Our business is to support the bust.” Poupie’s great-great-great grandmother, Herminie, is often credited with inventing the modern brassiere. The ‘Cara’ can even be dyed to exactly fit the wearer’s skin tone. TheBust-BoosterBra
