Social Networking Sites Bangs Out Porn Sites
09/24/08
By A. Graves

College-aged Internet users prefer to visit Facebook over tuning into the latest episode of Bang Bus. According to a new book from Bill Tancer, the general manager of Global Research at Hitwise, students are more inclined to visiting social networking sites before they shell out scarce funds to adult pay sites.

AVN reported that Tancer gathered data from more than 10 million Internet users and their online habits. In his book Click: What Millions of People are Doing Online and Why It Matters, Tancer noted that online searches for adult content is now at 10 percent—a drop off from 10 years ago when it peaked at 20 percent.

“These days, surfers are more likely to visit social, networking sites such as MySpace or Facebook,” Tancer said in his book.

However, Tancer was not implying that sex searches were becoming a vice of the past. Tancer noted that sex searches related to more than just websites such as AssWatchers.com. Sex searches in social encyclopedias such as Wikipedia were becoming more prevalent among Internet users.

Students may now prefer to get off their jollies by researching about the measurements of the world’s biggest jugs, rather than typically watching it bounce.
