Andrew Davies, a screenwriter, tells Hay Festival (a literary fair) audience that sex is essential to any story. He stated that, "You have to get sex into the spine of the story” and offered this as free advice to any young writers present. He stated that since early in his career as a writer he has recognized the importance of sex.
He has made many adaptations for the small screen for BBC including Pride and Prejudice. He said that his next project may very well be an adaptation of John Cleland's Fanny Hill.
