The new socially conscious movement of monitoring one’s carbon footprint has brought about a movement amongst the world’s population of vibrator owners. In an effort to maintain the planet’s natural wonders, online adult retailer LoveHoney.co.uk has suggested a simple exchange: recycle your used rabbit vibrator and you just might help save the planet.

The UK-based retailer, LoveHoney, is taking advantage of new waste disposal restrictions that require citizens to dispose of electrical equipment at designated electrical waste collection centers. In order to avoid an embarrassing trip to the waste collection center, LoveHoney has paired up with the World Land Trust to develop a way to make sure old and unloved rabbit vibrators are recycled in the most environmentally friendly manner.

The campaign dubbed Rabbit Amnesty provides owners of the rabbit vibrator, one of the worlds most popular vibrators, an address to send their old toys to so they can be appropriately disposed of. Not only does this afford an opportunity to help the environment but it also gives participants the option to replace the now recycled vibrator with a brand new rabbit for half the cost.

For every vibrator returned to LoveHoney for recycling, the company will donate £1 to the World Trust Fund. The World Trust Fund will use the money raised to purchase and preserve acres of tropical rain forest in places such as Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, India, Mexico and the Philippines.

The World Land Trust has been working to replant and preserve acres of rain forest for the past 18 years. With this new partnership, LoveHoney has kicked off the process with a contribution of £1,000. At £50 an acre, this has started the Rabbit Amnesty campaign with the initial purchase of 20 acres of rain forest.
