A new study suggests that men are more likely to have sexual thoughts when meeting a woman for the first time than women meeting men, and that physical attractiveness is highly correlated to a high sexual ranking.
Maurice Levesque and his research team conducted the study at University of Connecticut, where they tested 43 men and 43 women by splitting them into pairs. Then they were given questionnaires to measure their masculinity or femininity. They were then put together and instructed to introduce themselves and have them each relate both a fond and an unhappy memory.
They were then separated and answered questions about one another’s level of attractiveness. Men were much more likely to find their female counterpart sexually appealing, particularly if she was physically attractive, though it is possible that more men admitted it then women.
