The results of a nationwide survey conducted by the federal government have confirmed the suspicion that men are more promiscuous. Using a brand-new survey technique to gather data from over 6,000 adults between the ages of 20 and 59, the National Center for Health Statistics believes it has finally proven, with hard-fast statistics, the sexual tendencies of men and women.
The method of surveying employed a computer-assisted self-interview process which eliminated the discomfort and potentially doctored answers that result from face-to-face interviews that have been used in the past.
This new honesty inducing method found that 29 percent of American men reported having 15 or more sexual partners in a lifetime while only 9 percent of women reported having as many partners. It was also found that the median number of partners for men was three higher than for women tallying out at seven partners versus four.
The study went on to investigate patterns in sexual behaviors in different races as well as in the different genders. One statistic that bonded nearly all, never mind gender or race, is this: Roughly, 96 percent of Americans have had sex by the age of 20.
The study is expected to provide a solid basis for future investigations into the archetypes of sexual activity. MenareMating,WomenareWaiting
