Universal Pictures will be producing a film portraying the life of Hugh Hefner. The man behind Playboy sold the rights to tell his story to producer Brian Grazer years ago but has just given the go-ahead on the specifics of the project last week.
The movie will be the directorial undertaking of Brett Ratner who is also known for his work on Rush Hour and X-Men 3. Ratner has been coupled with screenwriter John Hoffman to produce the plainly titled film, “Playboy.”
The movie is slated to cover as much of Hefner’s life as the big screen will allow: everything from his “puritanical upbringing” to his “first orgy” to his life as a father, husband and founder of Playboy.
Ratner is looking forward to tackling his job as director and commented on the star of his new project: “He broke all kinds of taboos, especially in sexuality. I want to show it all…” HughHefnertoHittheBigScreen
