Five police officers in Orlando were found to be looking at pornographic images on city computers while on the job. They were outed when an internal affairs investigation report was recently released. Once it was known, city officials seized the computers for inspection.
Although the actual incident of exchanging sexually explicit emails of women engaging in intercourse in various sex positions between the officers occurred 2-4 years ago, they were just revealed in December 2005 by internal investigators that included a civil case of sexual harassment filed by an officer.
The officers in questions—which included two lieutenants—are not going to be fired but face up to eight hours of suspension or a written reprimand; their individual supervisors are in charge of the respective punishment.
“For the workplace, it’s inappropriate,” said internal affairs Sergeant Joseph Windt. He adds that these officers have clearly broken police rules.
