Members of New Zealand Christchurch have declared themselves 'vegansexuals.' The vegansexuals allow their dietary choices to dictate who they will have sex with.
One couple, Nichola and Hans Kriek, are vegans and members of the Christchurch. The couple have been married for nine years and can understand this new form of sexual classification.
“When you are vegan or vegetarian, you are very aware that when people eat a meaty diet, they are kind of a graveyard for animals,” Nichola said.
The idea is that meat eaters' bodies are made up of exactly what the vegans do not condone consuming and so sex with those people becomes undesirable. Another member of the Christchurch and a declared vegansexual has admitted to finding meat-eaters or non-vegans attractive but that she would not be comfortable with being physically close to them.
“I would not want to be intimate with someone whose body is literally made up from the bodies of others who have died for their sustenance,” she said.
