In hopes to make safe sex more appealing to his fellow citizens, a Ukrainian scientist has created a condom that plays music during intercourse.
A tiny speaker and motion sensor is anchored on the top portion of the condom (where the roll is), in which the music is activated by movement. The more vigorous the lovemaking, the louder it gets; the tone even changes based on the sex position.
Hryhory Chausovsky, the inventor of the musical condom, said its main limitation is the sound quality. It has a tinny sound akin to the tones of the first cell phones. It also has no potential to electrocute the users during use and is claimed to be completely safe.
In hopes of staunching the HIV-infection rate in Ukraine, which has one of the highest incidences in the world, Chausovsky created the musical rubber to make condoms more appealing, especially to the middle class which has gained interest in adult novelty products in recent years.
