During a holiday on the Greek island Zakynthos, police arrested nine British women, six British men and six Greek men as they participated in an oral sex competition. The women, who came to the island on vacation, were hired to partake in the contest and are being charged with prostitution; the men are being charged with promoting the raunchy event.  

The incident, which took place in the south of the Ionian Island at Laganas beach, was taped and was going to be distributed over the Internet. However, as the finale of the competition approached, police caught footage of the event on Antenna TV, a Greek TV station. Following this, several bars were closed down, with the police wanting to keep the area free of obscenity and debauchery.

Known for its raging party scene, Laganas is one of Greece’s main tourist attractions, drawing approximately 15 million visitors each year, with a fifth of them being British.
