According to a survey done by lavalifePRIME, single baby boomers are relishing their freedom and their sex lives. For most of those in this generation, marriage is not on the horizon; instead, boomers are looking for fun, friendship and sex.
Of the 1,000 that were polled, 46 percent of Boomers are enjoying sex more than they did when they were in their 20s and 30s; 34 percent would have sex on a first date; and, of the sexually active boomers, 25 percent are open to the idea of a threesome.
"Most of these people are looking to enhance their lives. …Their attitude is, we want to meet interesting people," said Marina Glogovac, Lavalife's CEO.
Taken across Canada and the United States, the poll also revealed that 47 percent are looking for friendship; 33 for a serious relationship; 30 for casual dating; 19 for a sexual companion; and, 10 for marriage.
In North America, there are roughly 85 million baby boomers, 30 percent of which are single.
"They usually have a broad range of experiences and relationships. It's a group that wants to share who they are, and where they've been, and what insight they've picked up along the way," said Glogovac.
