Australian Adult Industry Protests Smoking Ban in Brothels
06/14/06
By Ethan Donway

The Australian Adult Entertainment Industry (AAEI) is lobbying for an exception to the no smoking rule for brothels on the grounds that a post-coital cigarette is a tradition.

AAEI made the statement that these anti-cigarette laws could force women back into street prostitution. The argument is that brothels have their own separate culture different from other environments and ought to be left out of the strict new anti-smoking laws set to take affect next year.

They have stated that unless there is an exception made for brothels there will be a great number of complaints among brothel customers.
